"I was agreeably surprised by the size of the suite, which is actually a small apartment. If you are two or more people, the place is a bargain as there is a double bed in the bedroom, as well as a single bed in the living room, so that up to three people can be accommodated. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with cooking tools, dishes, and cutlery. It contained a refrigerator, a freezer, a normal stove/oven, a microwave oven, and a table with seating for four. The bathroom was new and sparkling, and the towels were a cheery shade of sunshine yellow. There is ample closet and storage space, including a hideaway shoe cabinet. The garden is beautifully planted with palm trees and other lush greenery. I had a balcony running the length of both rooms. The hotel is not extremely close to the airport, but that is actually an advantage as the jet noise is not so loud. This would be a good place to stay for either the night before a flight or even for a few days. The ruins of Ostia Antica are not far away, and the beach is also nearby. Central Rome is reasonably accessible. I would stay there again."
"Euro House is, by far, the BEST we stayed in on our trip to Italy and Malta. Massimo and Fabiola were perfect innkeepers, gracious and extremely helpful. Thier English language skills are a real plus. Ten minutes form Leonardo Da Vinci airport, but out of the flight path, with their ever-ready shuttle service is a big plus. Euro House is actually fully equipped short term apartments. There is lots of room to get organized on arrival and departure and to deal with jet-lag. Very near by (a short bus ride) is Ostia Antica, an archeological dig (scavi) and museum park equal in interest with Pompeii. The web and brochure pictures EXACTLY depicted the apartments we stayed in -- they are really that nicely furnished! Since the train station for the Fuimicino Express to Roma is connected to the airport, Massimo will provide the van shuttle for your link to and from the train as well as the plane. Euro House is a jewel! Don't miss this one!"

They were concerned about us carrying purses, but their English was limited, so they enacted a scene with Americo trying to steal Bruna's purse and Bruna yelling' "Attenciones! Attenciones!" I've stayed in many hotels in the area, and none come anywhere near the standard of this place. This hotel is about as quiet as can be expected considering it's basically walking distance from the Fiumicino airport. It's off the main street so you don't get traffic noise. There is a secure area you can park your car (the courtyard right in front of your door). The staff are excellent. There is a grocery a few hundred meters down the main street (easy walking distance). There is always someone on duty who speaks English. The staff do everything they can to make sure your stay goes smoothly. They do 10 times more for you than any other hotel staff. Basically... if you are staying in Fiumicino either just as an overnight while waiting for a flight, or several nights while you visit the area, this is the best place to go in my opinion."

"Like many others on this website, the only real problem with this hotel is that it is very difficult to find! There's another Euro House accommodation hotel in the town, but it's nowhere near this one, so if you're trying to find it by car you'll find yourself driving around in circles. However once we did find it, with helpful directions from the other hotel, this was a real gem of a place. It's very clean, very quiet (although other guests clomping along on the walkways outside can be noisy) and on our visit looked like it had only just been built. Very nice indeed! The lad on reception spoke perfect English and was very helpful, showing us to our room which turned out to be a very large apartment, with kitchen and dining area, bedroom, bathroom - three separate rooms - and balcony. In the fridge provisions including fruit juice and water were offered as complimentary, together with free tea and coffee. It's all self-contained and all quite wonderful. Sadly, the town itself is no picture postcard place, and the hotel's location, whilst on the edge of town, is more to do with convenience for the airport than for any scenic or tourist attraction. But you can't beat this for an overnight stay, and for non-driving guests there's a shuttle bus to take you to the airport nearby. We will definitely use this hotel again."

"Il Castagnone" is the hotel's typical restaurant and is surrounded by a wide garden, that faces the Lake, where, during the summer time it's possible to eat. The luminous and elegantly furnished dining-room can give hospitality to 200 people, while the terraces allow to receive 250 people comfortably. The restaurant is open every day and offers a variety of typical dishes prepared with rare skill.
THE "TINELLO"
Our hotel disposes of an ancient wine cellar placed in the medieval centre of Genzano (1 km from diana Park Hotel) a small town with ancient rural traditions specialized on the production of famous D.C C wines (controlled denominations wines) such as Frascati Colli Lanuvini Marino and others.
The cellar "TINELLO" was built during XVII century and since then it has always been used to preserve the wine obtained from the grape pressing. Infact, after the drawing off process the precious liquid was poured into chestnut wooden barrels, stowed in big niche built in the cellar basement the ideal place to preserve the wine for humidity and temperature.
The cellar has a surface of 200 square meters and can hold about 100 people. Inside, there is an exhibition of ancient tools once used to produce the wine, so the expert can admire barrels, a wine press, a manual weighing machine and other equipments which represented, and in some cases still represent, the tools used for the production of this ancient and famous product on Earth.
We organize wine testķng with typical products of this area, lunch or dinner, with musical entertainment of folk-groups playing famous songs of Castelli Romani.
We usually offer the tasting of white, red and rose wine of Colli Lanuvini (area around Genzano) with home-made bread cheese ant local dressed pork products, the famous roast suckling pig, a typical dish of Ariccia and home-made sweets.
So, the guests can appreciate a suggestive and characteristic atmosphere, reflecting the ancient and rich traditions of this area.
GENZANO
The origin of the name "Genzano" is uncertain, but the most commonly accepted opinion draws it from "Cinthianum, Fanum Cinthianum" due to the existence, in these places, of a temple dedicated to the goddess Diana or Cinthia. The hill where the village is situated was in the past the site of several roman villas, where there are at least four of them; one of these belonged to the Emperor Antonino Pio (born in Lanuvio, a village with a very ancient history, about five or six kilometres from Genzano); in Genzano lived Commodo, the emperor fond of gladiatorial games and Marco Aurelio, the philosopher-emperor fond of Hellenic civilisation. What makes Genzano famous all over the world, rather than its ancient history or buildings, is an ancient yet constantly renewing event, a result of the intelligence and devotion of its inhabitants: the "Infiorata" (Flower fair). This event has been celebrated yearly, in June, the day of the Corpus Domini, since June 1778, when the brothers Arcangelo and Nicola Leofreddi wished to celebrate the sacred day with flowers.
THE SHIPS OF NEMI'S LAKE
The area to the south of Rome especially the Roman Castles, is full of historical memories and many are the archaeological sites. However the place where ancient history is more evident and the atmosphere itself is a reminder of the past, is the Lake of Nemi with the famous Roman Ships Museum. In this background we can locate the presence of the Roman ships from Nemi. All through the Middle Ages they were shrouded in mystery and subjects of fantastic stories told by the fishermen of this place: two huge hulls were sunk near the western shore of the lake; huge treasures were kept in their hold, and monsters would forbid anybody to come near.

The diana Park Hotel is about 35 Km from the centre of Rome. The easiest way to reach the hotel from Rome is to take the Via Appia and follow the instructions for Albano-Velletri up to Genzano - famous and delicious "Genzano bread" -. There you meet a cross-road for Nemi where you have to turn on your left. Another way is the Via dei Laghi which reaches Marino and then go to Nemi and down to the hotel.

If you're coming from Nemi, the driveway is hard to see and turn into. The restaurant was reasonably good, if not exciting. Despite its name & the chestnuts pelting the cars in the lot, there were no chestnuts on the menu. Breakfast was lean until a large group arrived, but by asking one could get huge delicious pears. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful."

"This is a lovely olde worlde hotel with beautiful gardens and pool area. We had a hard time finding it as I had not arranged directions. We were in two adjoining rooms at the rear of the gardens and separate from the hotel itself. These were fine for us as a family and probably reflected the fair price we paid. The interior of the hotel is "shabby chic" and the dining room could do with an upgrade. However, the gardens are beautiful and the atmosphere very tranquil. We took the train from Frascati, very close, to Rome and I would definitely recommend this as opposed to staying in Rome, especially during the summer. Staff were lovely and very helpful if a bit short staffed in the dining room. I would definitely stay there again."

"La Meridiana is a converted building of 1690, handsomely restored. The family that runs it is exceptionally friendly, hospitable and helpful. You will need a car to reach it (it's about 90 minutes from Leonardo da Vinci airport), but once there you will find yourself in handsome country and very quiet surroundings. While we were there we were the only guests, and we felt much more like houseguests than travellers in a hotel. We found it ideal as a place to spend our first two nights in Italy, recovering from jetlag, but it would also be good for longer stays, since each room (or small apartment, really) has at least some kitchen facilities. There are no real indoor public areas, and we had our breakfast out of doors, under a walnut tree. The place is beautiful."
"We were well received. The rooms were very unique and the setting was great. The directions were a little difficult, however. Coming from Orte on the four lane highway, when you exit Viterbo Nord, it would probably help if the directions indicated that you should drive all the way through Viterbo (following the signs for Roma)BEFORE you started measuring the 3.5 kilometers on the Strada Cimino. We started to measure the 3,5 kilometers when we exited the 4 lane highway, but we still found it okay. It may also help to have a more detailed map showing the route from the exit to the turn off for the Club Roncone ridng school (which was very well marked). The dogs kept woke us up a bit, but it was no problem. I really enjoyed reading the local Viterbo recipes that were in the kitchen. I would definitely like to stay at La Meridiana again."

"Hotel was wonderful. Wife and I had a spacious double with view out to the Belini Square (directly in front of hotel, the elephant-monolith Belini made is about 30 meters straight out from the hotel front door.) The location to Pantheon (45 seconds), Trevi Fountain (8 minutes), Spanish Steps (12 minutes), etc. made it very convenient. The hotel is a little pricy, but the staff and their attention is the reason why. The concierge got (at my request) 2 great tickes for the Aida opera (without too much of a markup over ticket price). Breakfast buffet was great, and all in all, very good value if you are seeking a high end hotel, without the snobbery that can occasionally come along with such a selection."
