The hotel is situated about 20 Km from Rome (south of Rome), in the area of the roman Castles, between Frascati and Grottaferrata. The Villa was built in the Twenties as a private residence, and than used as hotel and restaurant in 1952, maintaining the typical furnishings of the noble houses of that period and preserving its old fashination.
Completely restored between 1997 and 1998, the hotel is now composed of 24 rooms, with possibility of receiving in total 40 guests, all equipped with independent air conditioning, minibar, colour TV,safe, and finely furnished with antique period furniture and elegant curtains.

"This is a lovely olde worlde hotel with beautiful gardens and pool area. We had a hard time finding it as I had not arranged directions. We were in two adjoining rooms at the rear of the gardens and separate from the hotel itself. These were fine for us as a family and probably reflected the fair price we paid. The interior of the hotel is "shabby chic" and the dining room could do with an upgrade. However, the gardens are beautiful and the atmosphere very tranquil. We took the train from Frascati, very close, to Rome and I would definitely recommend this as opposed to staying in Rome, especially during the summer. Staff were lovely and very helpful if a bit short staffed in the dining room. I would definitely stay there again."

With competence and authentic passion, the historical building is finally restored and can be admired by visitors. Expert gardeners have skilfully redesigned the Italian Garden and the 15.000 sq. Woody park to match the patterns, followed centuries ago by the original architect.
From windows, lounges and terraces, the Villa offers spectacular views.
At sunset, on the horizon, the sea sparkles with the shimmering reflection of the dying sun, and on the other side, Rome becomes alive with twinkling lights.
The early comments on the Villa built at the foot of the Tusculum Hill go back to the beginning of the 17th Century. It was considered one of the most prestigious of the whole area.
In one of the rooms, Ciampelli pictured the Villa itself framed in a rustic scene.
The choice of a side prospect enhances the elegance of the form with the two side towers projecting forward from the central body: this picture did certainly strengthen a positive opinion on the architecture of the Villa.
The Villa presents an articulated plan, featuring two avant-corps, and a central tower shaped body. Is U-shaped architecture seems inspired by Villa Farnesina, a masterpiece by Baldasare Peruzzi, in Roma.
The central body itself brings to mind some period on commission of Pope Gregorius XIII.
Without a doubt the construction of the Villa has been commissioned by Carafa, as can be read on a memorial stone reporting a brief by Gregorius XIII, that consecrates the chapel to Saint John the Baptist, dated 1580.
