The pools
The hotel has two pools. The first is rectangular and of Olympic length. Designed primarily for swimming it has a depth at one end of 1.70 metres shallowing to 1.40 metres at the other end. This pools flows into the second which, at a depth of 0,65 metres is ideal for children. A series of semi-circular steps house the Jacuzzi hydromassage. The entire swimming area, including the ample solarium, is surrounded by a hedge at head-height which guarantees privacy from the paths of the park.
The swimming area of the pool is open, exclusively to the hotel guests, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sun umbrellas, sun-beds, deckchairs and tables are available either pool-side or upon the grass of the solarium.
Children under the age of 12 are permitted in the pool only if accompanied by a responsible adult. Within the pool grounds the consumption of food is prohibited but drinks and ice-creams are served.

Surrounded by greenery, the Chalets are detached houses, completely indipendent from the Hotel. Each Chalet has a large garden and private parking. The Chalets are rented either by month or the year. The rent depends on the size of the Chalets.
In the little solarium square and the private bay facing the village guests will be provided with two sun beds and a sun umbrella for each apartments. The guests may use the hotel facilities if they wish, at the current prices e.g. restaurant with a 20% rebate, the thalassoterapy pool etc.
The stay is on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday or Friday to Friday. The apartments are available from 12:00 noon and must be vacated by 10:00 am on the departure day.

From Naples take the Tangenziale up to Mondragone, direction Formia, Gaeta, Sperlonga. By motor road (A1) exit Cassino direction Formia, Gaeta and then follow signal to Sperlonga.
By train: (Rome-Naples railway) get off at the station of Fondi - Sperlonga, from where a service of public transport will take you to Sperlonga (11 km).

The short road and paths to the beachfront was suffering from the recent developments closeby in April, but should improve as most of the work seems to be nearing completion."
"The room allocated to me on arrival was a basement room which looked on to a tiny walled garden. I told the receptionist that I did not like my room and another room was allocated to me immediately. This was a larger room with plenty of day light and I was very pleased with it. I dealt mainly with 2 receptionists 1 was not as competent as the other. The better of the 2 made up for the 1st's inefficiency. The swimming pool is delightful - quite and exceptionally clean. The location is good - albeit a walk away from the sea, the hotel is close enough to the centre of Sperlonga. There are no outdoor dining facilities; because of this I did not dine at the hotel. I wish to dine al fresco whilst on holiday. The relationship between price and quality is excellent and I shall be happy to return to the Virgilio Grand Hotel." |

Ventotene Island, residue of an ancient volcano, is less than three kilometres long. Pandataria, as the island was anciently called, was chosen at the end of the First century b.C. by the emperor August as a golden exile for his daughter Giulia, who was confined for her immoral behaviour.
